IFT, Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) – Erases Doubts of Important Role of Traceability in the Global Food Chain
The Institute of Food Technologists’ Global Food Safety & Quality Conference, following IFT’s Annual Meeting in Anaheim, CA, explored current and future challenges of traceability on June 10, 2009. More than 14,500 food professionals came to California to hear about the latest food science and technology developments, learn about the newest products and trends, and build stronger professional relationships at the IFT Annual Meeting, and over 160 people attended the Global Food Safety and Quality Conference. The conference focused on Food System Traceability: Technology vs. Reality and drew contributors from academia, industry, and government. An industry panel discussion on traceability at this important conference featured Jim Dar, Director of Technical and Manufacturing Services at Allen Flavors.
